Along the Okeechobee Waterway at Ortona, on the Caloosahatchee River, River Forest Yachting Center provides tidy, climate controlled hurricane season boat storage, with two massive storage buildings – each as large as two football fields – to keep your watercraft secure during the off season. Both buildings are rated to withstand a Category Five hurricane. There are exterior storage spaces with tie-downs as well. If you’re in need of a marine mechanic, there’s always one on call, with an extensive shop on site. A boat wash and small ship’s store round out the complex.
