Boating across South Florida? Glades County has two protected ports where you can come ashore and resupply or just relax as you’re traversing coast-to-coast along the St. Lucie Canal and the Caloosahatchee River on the Okeechobee Waterway.
In downtown Moore Haven, dockage along our waterfront park – within sight of the landmark Lone Cypress, a beacon for sailors for centuries – provides an easy walk to restaurants and shops.
At The Glades, the deep water marina is a popular mooring spot along the Caloosahatchee River. Sailboats welcome. On the north shore, River Forest provides a marina, mechanic on duty, and long-term boat storage in Ortona.
