Founded in 1921 out of DeSoto County, Glades County is centrally located in South Florida, accessible by US 27, SR 29, SR 78, and SR 80. We’re home to numerous communities, including our historic county seat, Moore Haven; Palmdale, home of Gatorama; Muse, on the edge of Babcock Ranch; Lakeport and Buckhead Ridge, along Lake Okeechobee; and the Brighton Seminole Reservation, home to the Brighton casino and campground. Glades County is one hour from Fort Myers along SR 80, an hour and forty-five minutes from West Palm Beach along SR 80, two hours north of Miami and two and a half hours south of Orlando.
